  20. Matrox PowerDesk software includes a display driver and display 
  21. utilities. With this software, you can take full advantage of your 
  22. Matrox graphics hardware and you can access additional Matrox 
  23. display-related features.

  29. To install Matrox PowerDesk, start the "Setup" program included 
  30. with it, then follow the on-screen instructions.

  32. The setup program will only install software if a Matrox graphics 
  33. card model supported by the setup program is installed in your 
  34. computer.

  45. Notes, problems, and limitations

  48. - Installation in different language versions of Windows
  49.  
  50.   If you install software in a language different from the 
  51.   language of your operating system (for example, English software 
  52.   on a Japanese system), you may have problems with text and 
  53.   dialog box controls being cut off. This is because of 
  54.   differences in system fonts.

  56. - OpenGL (3D) support
  57.  
  58.   If you have a newer Matrox product or your Matrox software was 
  59.   provided by the manufacturer of your computer, full OpenGL 
  60.   support may be disabled with your Matrox display driver. For a 
  61.   Matrox display driver with full OpenGL support enabled, see the 
  62.   Matrox Web site (www.matrox.com/mga). (If your Matrox product 
  63.   was provided by the manufacturer of your computer, check the Web 
  64.   site of that manufacturer for a display driver. A display driver 
  65.   provided by the manufacturer of your computer is more likely to 
  66.   be tested with your computer model.)

  68. - Video playback with DualHead modes
  69.  
  70.   If you have a DualHead supporting graphics card and you're 
  71.   using DualHead Multi-Display, Clone, or Zoom mode, digital video 
  72.   may appear as a solid color on your secondary display. This can 
  73.   happen if video is played using the hardware-overlay feature of 
  74.   your Matrox graphics card. Video played using the overlay 
  75.   feature is generally of higher quality but it can be viewed only 
  76.   on your main display.

  78.   Because only one program at a time can use the overlay feature, 
  79.   any other program started while the overlay feature is used 
  80.   won't be able to use the feature. The overlay feature will be 
  81.   available to the first program to start after the program 
  82.   currently using the overlay is closed.

  84.   For video that normally uses the hardware-overlay feature, you 
  85.   may be able to view the digital video on your secondary display 
  86.   by running another instance of the video player or by using a 
  87.   video player that dynamically supports both hardware-overlay and 
  88.   non hardware-overlay video playback (such as Microsoft Media 
  89.   Player 7).

  91. - 15-bit color palette support for Windows 2000/XP
  92.  
  93.   For advanced users: By default, the 15-bit color palette is 
  94.   unavailable for Windows 2000/XP. If you need to use this color 
  95.   palette, you can make it available by adding the 
  96.   "User.Enable15Bpp" value to your Windows registry and then 
  97.   setting this value to "1". If you're adding this value, add it 
  98.   under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" > "SYSTEM" > "CurrentControlSet" > 
  99.   "Services" > "mgau" or "g200" or "g400" > "Device0". The value 
  100.   type is "REG_DWORD".

  102. - MPEG video playback and bus mastering
  103.  
  104.   Mystique, Millennium II, Productiva G100, and G100 MMS -- While 
  105.   playing MPEG video files with the bus mastering feature enabled, 
  106.   your computer may stop responding. To disable bus mastering, 
  107.   right-click your Windows desktop background, select "Properties" 
  108.   > "Settings" > "Advanced" > "Options", disable "Use bus 
  109.   mastering", then click "OK" > "OK" > "OK" to restart your 
  110.   computer and for the changes to take effect.
